2009 Silver City Teen Center
110 County Street, Taunton, MA 02780

Tuesdays: 5:00pm - 7:30pm
Friday's: 5:00pm - 7:30pm

The Silver City Center was opened in January 2009. It was a collaborative effort between numerous organizations including Southeastern MA Voices Against Violence, UnusDeus Ministries, Community Care Services, Substance Abuse Prevention Task Force, Taunton Youth Court, Peer Mediation, SADD and others.  The rebirth of the concept resulted for a Survey in which The Greater Taunton Clergy Association asked over 300 families what they felt was the single most needed item in the Community. A "Teen Center" was the ovewhelming choice identified. Presentations to the Mayor, City Counsel and the School Committee commenced. SEMA-VAV spearheaded an effort along with UDM, CCS and others to to create a series of Teen Shout Outs and Gatherings, in which the youth of the community could speak directly to civic leaders & show the need to such a facility. Within 6 Months the Silver City Teen Center opened its doors for the first time.

Located inside the old Elizabeth Pole Elementary School, the SSTC was developed to meet the needs of the cities' youth.  Volunteers are badly needed to maintain & eventually expand the hours of operation. Please show your pride in Taunton and join us! If you have the Time, we have the Need.
